Filled with pathos and humor, “Holy Shitake! A Wok Star is Born” chronicles Katie Chin’s journey as a first generation Chinese-American girl growing up in Minneapolis. Raised by her remarkable mother, seamstress turned restaurateur, Leeann Chin, Katie's childhood was filled with the smells of steamed dumplings, lemongrass, and ginger, along with triumphant memories of her mother's success, a buried family tragedy, and Katie's own rise to be one of America's most sought after celebrity chef.
